Your list, the cheapest shop

Published October 11, 2026 · mitbringen · Savings & Prices

mitbringen is a free shopping-list app for Vienna that shows you which supermarket is cheapest for your list this week: Billa, Billa Plus, Spar, Hofer or Lidl. Since October 2026 mitbringen is also on Android, in the Google Play Store, next to the App Store for iPhone. You write your list, see the best price for each item and add a deal with one tap. What you save goes towards your monthly goal.

mitbringen compares your list across Billa, Billa Plus, Spar, Hofer and Lidl. The assistant answers questions with this week's products and prices. You still read the unit-price tag on the shelf.

What a grocery price comparison app should do

A price comparison only helps with the weekly shop if it starts with your list, not with a deal you then have to go looking for. What matters:

  • Your list is the starting point. You type coffee, pasta, butter, and the app finds the prices for them.
  • Several chains at once. Comparing inside one chain doesn't tell you whether another shop would be cheaper.
  • Regular price and deal. A deal is only a win if it beats the other shops' regular price.
  • Unit price across pack sizes. €/kg and €/l show what is really cheaper. More: Compare unit prices.

How mitbringen works

  1. Write your list: just like on paper, with amounts if you like.
  2. See the cheapest shop: for each item, mitbringen shows where it costs least this week, at Billa, Billa Plus, Spar, Hofer and Lidl.
  3. Add a deal with one tap: a matching offer goes onto your list with one tap.
  4. Bring the savings home: after shopping, you bank what you saved towards your monthly goal.

Example: four items, two supermarkets

A short list is enough to show how much the shop matters. Same pack, same brand, Billa versus Spar:

Item Billa Spar
Jacobs Monarch ground coffee, 500 g € 9.99 € 12.99
Wolf Eigold spaghetti, 500 g € 1.58 € 2.37
Schärdinger Teebutter (butter), 250 g € 2.56 € 2.37
Hakle toilet paper, 9 rolls € 5.99 € 5.79
Total € 20.12 € 23.52

Regular prices from the Billa and Spar online ranges, as of 5 October 2026, no deals. Prices change weekly.

Billa is ahead for this shop, mostly because of the coffee. But butter and toilet paper are cheaper at Spar. Buying each item where it is cheaper costs € 19.73: € 0.39 less than Billa alone and € 3.79 less than Spar alone. Which shop wins for your list, mitbringen works out again every week. Why there's no permanent winner: Cheapest supermarket: Hofer, Lidl, Spar or Billa.

Shopping list app for Android and iPhone

A hand holds an Android phone with a shopping list above a full shopping bag on a kitchen table.

On Android you get the same app as on iPhone, with the same chains, the same list and the same monthly goal. You sign in with the same account on both. If you switch phones, your list stays in your account.

If you used Aktionsfinder

According to its own maintenance page, aktionsfinder.at has been out of operation until further notice since 31 May 2026. If you mainly used it to find deals for your weekly shop, here's how to switch: Aktionsfinder is offline: the alternative for your weekly shop.

What mitbringen doesn't do

  • Five chains: Billa, Billa Plus, Spar, Hofer and Lidl. Penny and drugstores such as dm or Bipa are not included.
  • Built for Vienna: stores and weekly deals are for Vienna.
  • Prices without guarantee: the price in store can occasionally differ from the app. The shelf label counts.
